We apologize for the issues you are experiencing with your sensor can. Sounds like the unit needs to be reset. To do so:
- Make sure there is no power to the unit by removing the batteries or unpluging the AC adapter’s power cable from the sensor can.
- Manually close the lid until it is completely flush with the can and hold it completely closed through the next steps.
- Place your other hand over the motion sensor for 5 seconds to completely drain the electronic memory.
- Wait 2 minutes, then re-insert batteries or plug the unit back in.
- Please ensure that you are only using one power source. For instance, if you are using the power adapter, do not insert batteries into the unit. If using batteries, do not have the unit plugged in.
Please note, the first several opening and closing cycles are usually slower than normal. This is normal. You can consider the first 20 openings as the warm up period.
